In our hospitality world,  the difference between productive business and unproductive business is not how well known the business is. The difference between productive business and unproductive business is not since when the business is found.

This can be pointed in businesses that are more than 20 years old and are still unproductive struggling to achieve pre-opening goals. On the other hand, some 2 years ago businesses were inexpressive; today are developed business and are achieving targets.

The difference between high profit & low profit does not reside in the available funds, location or advertising. Some business has limited strengths, but it is successful. The hotel is like an immense factory, importing raw material from the whole world and exporting manufactured products. …..  Well hospitality business imports guests and exports stories. How good the stories are, Is showing how good business is doing.

What is the difference then?

The difference is  the staff behaviour, framed along the business strategy by the education & the work ethic. On analysing,  the behaviour of the executives in rich & developed business, we find that the vast majority follow the following principles in their lives:

1. Ethics, as a basic principle.

2. Integrity.

3. Responsibility.

4. Respect to the laws & rules.

5. Respect to the staff rights.

6. Work loving.

7. Strive for success & development.

8. Will of super action.

9. Punctuality.

10. Admitting weakness and changing it.

In struggling businesses, only a minority follow these basic principles. They are not struggling because of weaknesses or because the market was cruel. They are struggling because they do not want to change.

Take 5 minutes thinking of a quote Albert Einstein said;

“We can not solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them”

& CHANGE, ACT!!
